Two years ago, the search query “NFT” first appeared on Google Trends reaching a score of one out of a hundred in the first month of 2021 and has been in existence since 2014. If we talk about it, after 1 year, NFTs were very popular and the search query reached the score of 100 as the search for the term skyrocketed and after that, during the week of January 22-28, 2023, the search if in 100 With the score reaching 11, there has been a significant decrease in interest in NFTs, and as of January 2023, statistics show that the top five NFT collections by sales volume to date have surpassed the top five NFT collections by sales volume overall. The collections have registered a total of $12.7 billion in sales volume. According to data from dappradar.com, the leader in NEFT sales volume over the last 2 years is Axie Infinity, which has generated $4.27 billion in sales volume. Last reported on January 28, AXI Infinity had a market capitalization of $1.37M. The website states that the market capitalization is equal to the minimum value deleveraged from the total supply. Cryptopunks follows AXI in overall sales volume and has accumulated $3.02 billion in all-time sales volume. Its current market valuation is $1.04 billion higher than the capitalization. The data says that 7503 traders have traded Cryptocurrency NFTs in 23259 sales. Next among the top collections is the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC), with $2.39 billion in sales volume to date. BAYC recorded 31,225 sales among 15,176 traders and has a current market capitalization of just under $1.02 billion compared to Cryptopunk. The fourth largest NFT collection in all sales volume is Mutant Ape Yacht Club with $1.66 billion. The full market capitalization of Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) is approximately $427 million with 47,744 sales recorded among 30,475 MAYC traders. Artblocks is the fifth largest NFT collection in terms of all sales, with a global sales volume of $1.36 billion. Its current market capitalization is $143 million and the project has registered 227,294 sales among 54,842 merchants. While the five NFT collections have accumulated $12.7 billion in sales volume, their collective value is approximately $2.619 billion.
